Thirsty Thursday: Bloody Mary
And now for the inaugural Thirsty Thursday blog. Our first drink is first for a reason, as it is the very first thing you should drink in the morning: The Bloody Mary.
We've all been there: Saturday or Sunday morning, massive headache and laying in bed vowing to never drink again (which usually lasts until later that evening). Many home made "cures" have surfaced over the course of the centuries. One of the famous Mexican cures that my family used growing up was eating Menudo the morning after drinking like a fish. That works for some, but not all.
The Bloody Mary surpasses all as not only the perfect hangover drink, but also the perfect before work pick me up when you need to be alert, but calm, at work.
So take this recipe, make yourself a Bloody Mary, cook up some bacon and eggs, and drink that hangover away!
Ingredients:
2 oz Vodka (preferably Kettle One or Grey Goose)
1/2 Cup Tomato Juice
1 and a half Teaspoons Lemon Juice
Tabasco to taste
Worcestershire Sauce to taste
Black Pepper to taste
Celery Stalk
Lime Wedge
Combine ingredients in a shaker (Start with two dashes of tabasco and Worcestershire and a pinch of pepper). Shake and pour into a tall glass filled with ice. Complete with the celery stalk and lime wedge. Taste and add additional Tabasco, Worcestershire, or pepper as desired.
